Southwestern Contemporary Artists
specialize in a fresh view of here-and-now
Southwestern scenes and images. Mountains, deserts,
pueblos, adobes, people and animals take on a new look.

"We each see through our own lens and then
make our own statement of reality."

Corn Woman

"Corn Woman" is as ancient as the race of man and as modern as tomorrow. Chanting her timeless prayers of thanks to the all-giving Sun God, she fulfills her task and awaits another day of bounty for herself and her family. Such women can still be seen in the outback of the Southwestern United States, where just a few miles off the beaten path, little has changed. This stylized, contemporary painting pays tribute to such stoic women who bring the past in focus with the present and assure us of a continuing future.

This painting is approximately 16"X20".
