The real reason for the search for the Holy Grail is the desire for power. People want power and will do most anything to get it. However, hunting around for a chalice whose existence is dubious, could be a waste of time. Let's put it this way: if the cup has been found, the current owners are remaining silent about it, and it's unlikely that they will advertise its presence. If it has not been found, then it's a bit late to hope for success.
Failing that, The real power is in people. Each individual person has a magnificent potential for developing their own personal power to respectable levels, and with steady effort, a fair percentage of the population could theoretically become proficient magicians.
Now there are two types of magicians, but only one kind of magic. Magic is magic, for it derives from a pervasive, universal force known in physics as the "Secondary Force," but the manner in which magic is brought forth and the motives for doing it differ considerably from person to person. For example, there are a great many "White Magicians" these days. Such people claim to do only good and use their efforts to promote health and healing or love and happiness for others. They feel that they must justify their use of magic to the world at large in order to keep hold on their chosen reality. Why? because they fear the outcomes of their projects and do not wish to take responsibility for their own actions. They assume that as long as they do only "White Magic" for others, they won't attract negative karma to themselves.
These folks usually refer to themselves as "Light Workers," and are steeped in limitations from a thousand and one different directions both physical, personal and ethereal. For the most part, they are ineffectual as they command no real source of power and have no means to raise enough energy to accomplish a fete of any consequence. Like Xtians, Light Workers always need money. That's because one of their limitations is that they cannot do magic for personal gain. "By their fruits, ye shall know them."
"Black Magicians," on the other hand, work for themselves, for their own well-being and for their own financial independence. Moreover, they do the same for others for fun and profit. Both "nice" and "nasty" purposes are considered and acceptable outcomes chosen. Black Magicians don't give a fig for Karma, because they create their own reality and their own eternity and as they grow in stature, they become their own savior, creating their own personal Safe Harbor somewhere among the Astral Realms. By necessity, Black Magicians use good sense and good judgment in their work as they do take responsibility for their own actions and understand that good and evil are both subjective states of being and can vary widely, according to perspective. Proficient Black Magicians eventually become as gods as they are both creators and destroyers. Not all Satanists are Black Magicians.
The first step in becoming a "Black Magician" is the casting off of personal limitations and taboos. The second step is casting off the limitations and taboos of others who have bequeathed theirs to you. The third step is to separate yourself from the spiritual limitations, illusions and lies handed down by the superstitious for they hinder your progress. This takes much soul searching and mental house cleaning to accomplish, but when the novice practitioner has successfully completed the project, he or she will be that empty vessel, chalice or Holy Grail, waiting to be filled with the Force which we joyfully call Satan and able to produce astounding magical results as they learn to focus the Power of the Universe.
